Employee Spotlight: Lisa Miller

Employee Spotlight: Lisa Miller, Office Manager

On how she got the job at Record Storage Systems:
I was working as Release of Information Supervisor at CMC-Main and Record Storage Systems was contracted to purge the medical records department for the three years I was there. I heard about an open position here at Record Storage Systems so I applied since it’s closer to home and I guess I made the right impression because I was hired as the Records Center Supervisor. I have since become the Office Manager.

What aspect of your role as Office Manager do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy the challenges and problem solving (I could be a detective), the people, and helping our customers to the best of my ability.

What has been the biggest change in the document management industry you’ve seen during your time at Record Storage Systems?
The use of technology and electronic records has by far been the biggest transformation within the document management industry. When I started with Record Storage Systems in 1996, all of our business processes were completely paper-based and no one used computers for document management. I could have never imagined the role that document scanning and electronic records would play in the industry and the digitization that would take place. Who would have thought that you could log onto a computer to view your medical records? And the cloud was just something white you saw in the sky. Technology has evolved so much!

How do you define success?
Being happy with yourself and the decisions you make — even the bad ones — since that’s how you learn to become a better person.

If you could have dinner with anyone (fictional, alive, dead, famous, non-famous), who would it be and why?

Matthew McConaughey…need you ask why? Have you seen those Lincoln commercials?
