Employee Spotlight: Gwen Hinson, Customer Service Representative

As a Customer Service Representative at Record Storage Systems, Gwen is responsible for providing a variety of customer support services including record retrieval and delivery requests, new client onboarding assistance, and maintaining strong customer relationships. If you’re a customer, chances are you’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Gwen once or twice!

How long have you worked at Record Storage Systems?
I’ve been with the company for a total of 17 years. I started working at Record Storage Systems as an indexer, then a few months later I moved over to our parent company, Distribution Technology, to work as a shipping clerk. After a few years moving around within the company, I came back to Record Storage Systems in 2008 and have been here ever since!

What aspect of your role as a Customer Service Representative do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy speaking with the customers and helping with anything they may need. I also enjoy the challenges that sometimes come with the job. Most of all, I enjoy helping and doing what I can to make things easier for our customers.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?
The best advice I have ever been given is to always do my best – and to always hold my head high no matter what the world brings my way.

What has been one of your proudest moments working at Record Storage Systems?
One of my proudest moments at Record Storage is when I completed 15 years of service! That was a wonderful accomplishment.

What do you like to do on the weekends when you’re not at the office?
I love to clean my house. I find it very therapeutic. I also love spending as much time as I can with my kids. We enjoy traveling from time to time on the weekends sometimes too.

What is the song title that best describes your personality and why?  
“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!” I think I’m a pretty fun person to be around. I like to have fun so this was the best choice for me.

How do you define success?
I define success as the goals that I accomplish in life, and how hard I work to do so. As long as I put forth the effort to succeed, that’s all I need.
